A Barefoot Bride, a Vintage Wedding Dress, a groom in shorts and flipflops - only a gorgeous outdoor

To start off the first of my featured weddings, I of course had to pick the sunshine-filled, laid-back wedding in beautiful rural Cornwall of my little brother Matt.

You would not believe that for a few days before the wedding, there was gale-force winds whipping round and torrential rain lashing down, as we struggled to erect our bell tent in our haste to get dry, fed and watered after the several hours drive from Devon to Cornwall.

Our camping destination was Retorrick Mill, Mawgan Porth where we would be spending the next week enjoying wedding festivities! There was no way that we thought the sun was ever going to shine again!

However, on the wedding morn the sun was out and the blue sky was fresh and new, just perfect for the bride-to-be, Jo, and her friends to go out into the Cornish countryside to gather armfuls of flowers to dress the wedding area and to fill jam jars with, which were to adorn the metal crooks at the end of the hay bales ready for the wedding ceremony.

Matt and Jo had been foraging in the woodland a few days before, as they wanted to create their own wedding arch. They dressed the fallen branches using antique lace, wooden hearts and wild flowers to create their own unique and personal arch.

The rest of the festival inspired decorations were hired from the fantastic Box and Cox Vintage Hire and styled and dressed by Jo and Matt and Friends and Family.

The ceremony was simple and beautiful, taking place in the meadow at Retorrick Mill and finishing off with Pimms and lemonade.

Jo wore a beautiful Vintage Wedding dress with bare feet and Matt was in a linen suit with shorts and flip flops, this all contributed to their gorgeous laid-back feel of the day.

Then, it was a short stroll across the meadow up to the fabulous hidden gem of Scott and Babs wood fired food restaurant, where we tucked into a hearty feast of spit-roasted chicken, honey glazed halloumi and fresh salad.

We tucked into the wedding cake - a mountain of freshly baked scones. home-made jam, fresh cornish butter and Cornish clotted cream - yum!

Several Jager bombs later, Dancing followed and then the campfire finished the night off xx
